Police Investigating Fatal Accident Involving Motorcyclist at Mc Doom

Police authorities are currently investigating a tragic accident that claimed the life of 26-year-old motorcyclist Domall Trim. The incident occurred around 9:35 p.m. last night along the public road at Mc Doom, East Bank Demerara, near the Guyana Shore Base Inc.

The collision involved a motorcycle operated by Domall Trim, a resident of Lot 16 Bel Air Village, Georgetown, and a motor lorry registered as #GAE 2805, belonging to Guyana Shore Base Inc. The lorry was being driven by 24-year-old Nickell Higgins from Sparendaam Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara.

Initial findings indicate that the lorry was traveling eastbound on Rome Access Road with the intention to continue further east across Mc Doom public road. Upon reaching the junction, traffic authorities halted all vehicles traveling south and north on both lanes before granting passage to the motor lorry.

As the lorry commenced its crossing of the eastern carriageway, a group of motorcyclists was observed traveling southward on the same lane at an accelerated speed, overtaking the stationary vehicles. Tragically, Trim’s motorcycle collided with the rear section of the lorry, causing him to fall onto the road and subsequently skid into the rear right-side wheel of the vehicle.

As a result of the impact, Trim sustained severe injuries to his body. He was promptly transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where medical staff attended to him for multiple injuries. Despite efforts to save him, Trim succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His body currently rests at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
