President Dr. Irfaan Ali has announced that his government is committed to enhancing the quality of education in Guyana by establishing the country’s first digital school.
During his Presidential address on the occasion of Guyana’s 58th Independence anniversary, President Ali emphasized the importance of improving educational opportunities for Guyanese youth. He revealed plans to create a technologically-driven school for primary and secondary education, which will offer live online teaching.
“This novel digital school is being developed to ensure that students have access to a dynamic learning environment,” President Ali stated. The initiative aims to revolutionize education in Guyana and pave the way for similar developments nationwide.
President Ali also expressed his support for teachers, acknowledging their vital role in shaping the future. Despite ongoing discussions between the Education Ministry and the Guyana Teachers’ Union (GTU), the government remains committed to treating teachers fairly and ensuring their dignity.
