Police on Friday conducted a raid exercise on the home of Dexter Whyte, Male a 61year-old resident of 111 Miles Mahdia, Potaro-Siparuni.
A black plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves seed and stems suspected to be cannabis enclosed in a transparent plastic bag under his bed.
The drugs were shown to him and he was told of the offence committed, cautioned and he replied, “Da is me weed, I does do business.”
A further search was conducted in his premises and in his presence. Police then found, stuck between the bottom western house wall, seven bulky black plastic bags, each containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis enclosed in seven transparent plastic bags.
(1) a transparent plastic bag containing (19) small transparent ziplock plastic bags each containing small portions of leaves seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. (2) a small transparent container containing (51) small pieces of whitish rocklike Substances suspected to be cocaine and (3) a black plastic bag containing (15) larger pieces of whitish rocklike substance suspected to be cocaine enclosed in a transparent plastic bag.
The drugs were shown to him and he was told of the ranks suspicion and of the offence committed, reminded that he was still under caution and he replied, “Sir is me thing, everything here belongs to me, ah doing a lil hustle.”
He was then arrested and taken to the Mahdia Police Station along with the suspected narcotic where the suspected cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted (290) grams and the suspected cocaine amounted to (45) grams. He is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
