On Friday, 22-y-o Marco Seudatt, of Fourth Street, Foulis, East Coast Demerara, appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court to answer to a murder charge.
He appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead was then remanded to jail. The matter was adjourned to May 18th, 2021.
Particulars of the charge stated that on February 22, at Enmore, ECD, Seudatt murdered 72-year-old Mathura Etwaru, a pensioner. On the day in question, Seudatt had an argument at around 02:46hrs. On the said day, based on CCTV footage, Seudatt lighted empty cardboard boxes after which he placed them on Etwaru. Seudatt then left the scene on a bicycle.
The now dead man’s body was discovered, by an employee of the said Supermarket, lying on the northern side of the compound with severe burns.
